Overview

Unofficial RSS reader for ArchDaily and Dezeen: a recent architecture project on every new tab, plus optional interiors.

Why I made this: For years I used the old "ArchDaily New Tab" extension, because keeping an eye on new architecture is something I genuinely care about. At some point it went stale and stopped updating, so every tab showed the same handful of projects on repeat. I wanted a living feed again, so I built this for myself. I am sharing it in case anyone else wants the same: new architecture on every new tab, kept current. What it is: Architecture Inspiration New Tab is an unofficial RSS feed reader for ArchDaily and Dezeen. It reads their public feeds and, every time you open a new tab, surfaces one recent project from them, shown full-bleed, with a link back to the source. The feeds are mostly architecture and interior projects, so each new tab is a recent project rather than a headline. It pulls from selected sources: ArchDaily and Dezeen Architecture, with a Dezeen Interiors feed available as well for anyone who also wants interior design in the mix. Each tab shows a single recent post: a full-screen photo, the project title, the architect when available, a "via ArchDaily" or "via Dezeen" source label, the photographer credit when the feed provides it, and a link straight to the original article. Click anywhere to read the full project at its source. The point is to send you to the original, not to keep you here. It is a reader of public feeds, not a place that republishes their content. It shows one recent post per tab rather than a running list of headlines, and every project links back to where it was published. Unofficial. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ArchDaily or Dezeen. All projects, photographs, and articles belong to their respective owners and publishers. This extension does not host any of that content. It reads the publicly available feeds and links back to the source. What you get on every new tab: - A different recent architecture project, drawn live from the selected feeds. - A clear source label and a one-click link back to the original article. - Photographer credit shown when the source feed includes it. - Choose which sources appear: turn ArchDaily, Dezeen Architecture, and Dezeen Interiors on or off in the settings, so you see exactly the feeds you want. - An optional Dezeen Interiors feed if you also want interior design alongside architecture. It is off by default, so the focus stays on architecture unless you switch it on. - A minimal clock, top-center, in your choice of 24-hour, 12-hour, or off (for maximum inspiration experience:). - A quiet settings gear, bottom-right, to toggle sources on or off and set the clock format. Built for architects, designers, students, and anyone who wants a calm, well-made window into current architecture, and interior design too if they choose, instead of a blank page. Think of it as a quiet daily wallpaper that is always a real, recent project you can open and read, not a static image. About the bar at the bottom of the page: If you have a Chrome bar underneath the page, with the extension name and a Customize Chrome button, that is Chrome's own footer (Chrome 138 and newer), not part of this extension. You can remove it: right-click the bar and choose "Hide footer on New Tab page". Privacy, plainly: - No account, no sign-in, nothing to fill in. - No personal data collected. No analytics. No tracking. - Your settings (which sources are on, your clock format) are stored only in your own browser, locally. Nothing is ever sent to the developer. Permissions, plainly: - Storage: to remember your source and clock-format preferences on your machine. - Access to the two feed domains: only to fetch the ArchDaily and Dezeen feeds so the projects can be shown. Nothing else is read or touched. This is a free, non-commercial hobby project, made by one person who wanted a better new tab.
