Archer replaces Chrome's new tab with one box. Type a question and it goes wherever you choose: your default search engine, an AI assistant, or straight onto the page as a streamed answer if you bring your own OpenAI API key. Type an address and you simply land there. Archer works out which you meant and gets out of the way. WHAT IT DOES • One box to ask or navigate. It uses the real list of web domains to tell a question from an address, the way the address bar does. • Choose where questions go: your default search engine, Google, ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity, or an answer right on the page. • Pick up where you left off: your recent AI conversations and past prompts appear as rows you can filter, pin or dismiss. • Saved prompts with fill-in-the-blanks, opened by typing "/". • Attach a file to your question. • A clock, greeting and date, an optional weather card and a favourites bar. • Light and dark themes that follow your system, and full keyboard control. PRIVACY Archer has no server, no account, no analytics and no ads. Everything it remembers stays in your browser and is deleted when you uninstall. It does not read the pages you visit. At install it asks for only two things: permission to use your default search engine, and storage for your settings. Every other feature stays off until you turn it on, each one is explained in plain language first, and you can turn it off again in settings.
