Arc Bookmark Importer

Import your Arc browser export (Markdown) into Chrome bookmarks. Every Arc space and folder becomes a bookmark folder.

Moving from Arc to Chrome? Arc can export your spaces, pinned tabs and folders as a Markdown file, but Chrome can't read it. This extension turns that file into regular Chrome bookmarks and keeps your folder structure. HOW IT WORKS 1. In Arc, export your data as Markdown (Arc's help centre has a guide called "How do I export my data from Arc"). 2. Click the Arc Bookmark Importer icon in Chrome's toolbar. 3. Choose the exported .md file. You'll see a preview of every folder and link. 4. Pick where the bookmarks should go: the Bookmarks bar, Other bookmarks, or any existing folder. 5. Click Import. FEATURES • Each heading in the export becomes a folder, nested the same way as in Arc (space › folder › subfolder). • Optionally fetches each page's real title, so bookmarks get proper names instead of bare URLs. Pages that can't be reached, such as home-network or login pages, are named after their domain. • Safe to run more than once: existing folders are reused and links that are already bookmarked are skipped. • Works offline if you untick "Fetch page titles". PRIVACY Everything happens on your computer. The extension has no servers, no analytics and no tracking. Your export file is never uploaded. It only reads the file you choose and creates bookmarks in your browser. If you choose to fetch page titles, Chrome first asks for permission. The extension then loads each bookmarked page directly from its website to read the title, and nothing else is stored or sent anywhere.
