Overview
Capture web AI chats into Arachnest and inject Arachnest context into them.
# Chrome Web Store listing — Arachnest capture/inject extension Draft copy and permission justifications for the Chrome Web Store developer dashboard submission. Nothing here is published anywhere by this file — it's the source text to paste into the dashboard's own form fields when actually submitting. ## Permission justifications The review form asks for a one-line justification per declared permission/host permission. Use these verbatim (or close to it): - **`storage`** — Stores the user's API key and configured server URL locally on-device. Nothing here is synced or sent anywhere except as part of the user's own authenticated requests to their configured server. - **`host_permissions` (`https://app.arachnest.com/*`)** — Needed to send captured conversation content to Arachnest's own backend for extraction, and to fetch the user's Arachnest context for injection. This is Arachnest's own production server — the extension's default, and the only origin it talks to out of the box. - **`optional_host_permissions` (`http://*/*`, `https://*/*`)** — Lets a user point the extension at their own self-hosted Arachnest instance instead of the default one. Declared broadly (required by Chrome's pattern-matching rules for optional host permissions), but the actual runtime grant a user approves is scoped to exactly the one origin they type into the extension's settings (`browser.permissions.request({ origins: [thatOneOrigin] })` — see `popup.js`), never a blanket grant. ## Store listing copy ### Short description (132-char limit) Seeded from `manifest.json`'s existing `extDescription` ("Capture web AI chats into Arachnest and inject Arachnest context into them.", 75 chars): > Capture AI chats from Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini into Arachnest, and > inject your Arachnest context back into them. (115 characters.) ### Detailed description > Arachnest is a personal and team knowledge graph for the decisions, > preferences, and facts that come up in your AI conversations. This > extension connects it to the AI chat sites you already use. > > **Capture** — on a Claude (claude.ai), ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), or Gemini > (gemini.google.com) conversation, click the Arachnest icon and choose > "Capture this conversation." The extension reads the messages on the > page, sends them to your Arachnest account, and Arachnest extracts the > real decisions and facts from them into your graph. > > **Inject** — click "Inject context here" to pull relevant facts from > your Arachnest graph — optionally scoped to one project — into the > compose box of the conversation you're in, so the AI you're talking to > has that context without you having to repeat it. Facts you've marked > private-only are never included in an injection; only what you've > explicitly shared is. > > Requires a free Arachnest account and an API key, created from your > Arachnest account settings. The extension only talks to your configured > Arachnest server (app.arachnest.com by default, or your own self-hosted > instance if you set one) — it never sends your conversations anywhere > else. Supported sites: Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini (all three have confirmed, tested selectors as of this writing — see `extension/content/selectors.js` and `extension/PROBES.md`).
