AquaTrace helps you understand the estimated environmental footprint of your AI conversations. It tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek usage locally in your browser and shows prompt counts, token counts, energy estimates, water-use ranges and CO₂ estimates. They are OFF by default and require your explicit opt-in. When enabled, AquaTrace can show a clearly labeled "Sponsored" offer bar at the top of supported shopping pages and also display offers in the extension popup. You can turn them off at any time. For shopping suggestions, AquaTrace sends only the product title, category, displayed price and currency to AON, our offer provider. If product information is unavailable, it may send cleaned search keywords or a generic shopping request. AON may forward the query to authorized offer partners. AquaTrace may earn a commission when you click a sponsored offer. AquaTrace does NOT send your AI conversation text, AI token history, seller data, account information, cookies, product URLs, page text or local tracking history. AI footprint calculations stay local in your browser. AquaTrace does not use analytics or build a browsing profile. Environmental numbers are modeled estimates based on published research, energy assumptions, provider water-efficiency ranges and grid carbon-intensity data. They are not precise measurements. New in 2.0.1: optional sponsored shopping suggestions on Amazon and Flipkart. Off by default; enable with a one-time opt-in. AI tracking is unchanged and still runs locally.
