Apple Browser AI
Overview
Summarize webpages locally with Apple Intelligence on compatible Macs.
Apple Browser AI turns long webpages into concise summaries without sending page content to a developer-operated server. Click the toolbar button or press Command–Shift–U to summarize the active page. Read the result in a compact popup or Chrome's side panel, and optionally keep the side panel updated while you browse. How it works: - Extracts readable text only after you invoke the extension - Sends that text to a native helper installed on your Mac - Uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework for the summary - Stores only your popup width and continuous-summary preference Requirements: - Apple silicon Mac with Apple Intelligence enabled - macOS 26 or newer - The open-source Apple Browser AI native helper, installed from the project's GitHub repository with `./install.sh` Apple Browser AI is open source and based on Michael Y. Qiu's MIT-licensed AppleBrowserAI project. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc.
