Get your business apps to do what you want - just because you want them to do it, when you want them to - not just based on some trigger or event. Using a CRM? Perfect! Do you ever find yourself looking at a record and thinking "I wish there was a button here to..."? Now there can be. You probably already have hacks for this. Changing a dropdown to some value, checking some random checkbox, setting a status which doesn't have business value. We know because we had all of these. You don't want to do that and it's impossible to maintain when you have complex business processes. Just add a button to do the thing.
