Overview
Lightweight, local-first API testing tool — a fast, minimal API client.
ApiTab is a lightweight, local-first API testing tool that opens instantly inside your browser — a fast, minimal alternative to heavier API clients. Build and send HTTP requests, then inspect the response with full headers, timing, and size. Organize your work into collections and folders, and switch between environments (e.g. local, staging, production) using {{variables}} that get resolved right before a request is sent. Need a request as code instead? ApiTab can generate a ready-to-use snippet in the language you're already working in, and just as easily turn a pasted command back into a request. Write pre-request and post-response scripts to set up test data or assert on a response, with a familiar scripting API running in an isolated sandbox. Everything is stored locally on your device by default — no account, no login, and no cloud required to use ApiTab. If you want to sync your collections across devices or share them with a team, you can optionally create a free account; your data stays local-only until you choose to turn that on. Dark mode included.
