Overview

Per-site browser fingerprint spoofing: consistent fake identities for trackers, real values for sites you trust.

Take back control of what websites can learn about you. Every time you open a website, your browser quietly reveals dozens of small details about your device: the browser and version you use, your operating system, screen size, graphics card, timezone, language, installed fonts, and much more. On their own these seem harmless, but combined they form a "browser fingerprint" — a signature unique enough to recognise and track you across the web, even when you clear cookies, use private browsing, or switch networks. Anti-Fingerprint Shield stops that. Instead of your real device, it hands each website a believable but fake cover identity: a realistic browser on a real-world mix of hardware, timezone, and locale. The website still works normally — it just sees a decoy instead of the real you. — How it works — The key idea is consistency. Anti-Fingerprint Shield gives every site a STABLE cover identity: the same website always sees the same fake device, while different websites see different ones. That matters for two reasons. First, a site that always sees the same consistent device has no reason to suspect anything — an identity that keeps changing is itself a red flag. Second, because each site sees a different identity, trackers and data brokers can't link your activity from one site to the next into a single profile. The whole cover identity is internally coherent. A "Windows + Chrome + NVIDIA" decoy reports a matching user agent, platform, GPU string, and client hints — no tell-tale contradictions like a Mac graphics card on a Windows user agent. The extension ships with over a hundred profiles spanning current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari across Windows, macOS, and Linux, so the decoys stay believable and varied. — What it protects — • Browser identity: user agent, platform, languages, CPU cores, device memory, and User-Agent Client Hints • Screen and window: resolution, pixel ratio, colour depth, and window size (kept realistic — never a window exactly the size of the screen) • Timezone: the Intl API and the Date API are kept in agreement, so getTimezoneOffset() and getHours() match the reported zone • Canvas, WebGL, and audio fingerprints: stable per-site noise, so repeated reads are consistent (real devices are consistent; random noise is a giveaway) • Fonts: the installed-font list is hidden and text measurement is subtly perturbed to resist font enumeration • Plugins, media devices, battery, speech voices, storage estimate, permissions, and colour-scheme preference • WebRTC IP-leak blocking (optional): prevents WebRTC from revealing your local and public IP address — Built to stay undetectable — Good spoofing shouldn't announce itself. Anti-Fingerprint Shield is careful to avoid the usual tells: • Its hooks report as native browser code, so a script inspecting them can't see that anything was modified. • Spoofed properties live exactly where real browser properties live, so low-level checks find nothing out of place. • Protection also applies inside embedded frames, closing a common trick where a script reads your real details from a hidden iframe. — You stay in control — • One-click on/off from the toolbar. • "Trust this site" — add sites that should always see your real browser (useful for banking or sites that break under spoofing). Trusted sites are never touched. • Pin a specific profile to a site, or let the extension pick one automatically. • Build your own profile from guided dropdowns. Every option is constrained so the result stays internally consistent — you can't accidentally create an impossible, easy-to-spot device. • A built-in Preview page shows exactly what any site receives, with one-click links to independent fingerprint testers (browserleaks, EFF's Cover Your Tracks, and others) so you can verify the protection for yourself. — Private by design — No accounts. No telemetry. No data collection of any kind. Everything runs locally on your device and nothing is ever sent to us or anyone else. The built-in statistics are a single local counter of protected page loads — the sites you visit are never recorded or stored. — Honest notes — • No tool makes fingerprinting impossible; this significantly reduces and disrupts it, but determined, sophisticated scripts can still find signals. • A small number of sites rely heavily on the values being spoofed and may misbehave — add them to your trusted list if needed. • WebRTC blocking hides your IP from WebRTC specifically; to hide your IP more broadly, combine the extension with a VPN. — Who it's for — Privacy-conscious users who want to reduce tracking, people who don't want data brokers and ad networks building a profile of them, and testers, researchers, and developers who want fine-grained control over the identity their browser presents.
