Annotated
Overview
Clip up to 90 seconds of a video or 100 words of an article, add your commentary, and publish a fair-use page crediting the source.
Annotated turns "someone should fact-check this" into a link you can post. Open the sidebar on any YouTube video or article. Clip up to 90 seconds, or quote up to 100 words. Write — or record — what you actually think. Publish, and you get a public page that plays the clip bounded to the moment you chose, credits and links the original, and puts your commentary underneath it. WHAT IT DOES • Clip up to 90 seconds of any YouTube video — playback is bounded to exactly the span you chose • Quote up to 100 words of any article, with an optional screenshot of the page • Commentary in text or recorded audio — commentary is required, that's the fair-use trade • A public page per annotation that links back to the source • A feed with follow, voting and threaded comments • Publish under your name or anonymously, per post BUILT AROUND FAIR USE Every annotation is a short excerpt, transformed by commentary, credited and linked. Limits are enforced by the server, not suggested. Every page carries a visible "dispute fair use" button that anyone can use without an account. Sign in with Google or X. Free.
