LegisComply adds a local review step before you share sensitive information with supported AI assistants. Use it with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot to check prompts and supported attachments, replace selected text details with placeholders, and restore recognized placeholders in the displayed conversation while their mappings are available. TEXT AND DOCUMENTS • Detect sensitive details in pasted text and typed prompts. • Automatically protect high-confidence findings and review uncertain suggestions. • Process one PDF, DOCX or TXT attachment at a time and create a protected text-only working copy. • Run detection locally, including a bundled GLiNER model that can be turned off in the extension menu. • Restore known text placeholders locally for readable conversations. • Copy restored answers using the extension’s response controls on supported AI pages. SCREENSHOT REDACTION — NEW IN 0.5.19 • Paste, drop or select a PNG, JPEG or WebP screenshot to open a local review before attachment. • Review boxes suggested for readable English text, including details such as emails and phone numbers. • Uncheck suggestions or draw extra boxes over any area you want to hide. Keyboard users can enter box coordinates. • Choose “Redact & attach” to attach a new PNG with selected areas permanently replaced by black pixels. The original screenshot stays unchanged. • Cancel attaches nothing. If recognition fails, the extension does not silently attach the original. Sharing the original after a successful scan requires a separate, explicit choice. Screenshot recognition runs on your device with bundled reader files. Screenshots are limited to 10 MB and 12 megapixels. Recognition can miss details, so check the whole preview. Faces, QR codes and other visual details need manual boxes. This does not add OCR for scanned PDFs. Unlike text placeholders, screenshot redactions cannot be restored in an AI answer. Other image formats use the original-image sharing confirmation preference. YOU CONTROL PROCESSING Protection starts off. Open the extension menu, read the disclosure and choose “Agree & enable protection.” Once enabled, the extension reads composer text, pasted text, selected supported documents and screenshots, and displayed conversation text on supported AI websites. This may include personal, financial, health, authentication or other sensitive information. Processing happens locally. No prompt contents, image contents or extension usage analytics are sent to LegisComply. You can turn protection off in the menu; while off, sends and uploads are not protected. The current extension is free to use. OPTIONAL LOCAL RECOVERY Text mappings are held only in the current tab by default. Optionally enable password-encrypted local recovery for 7, 30 or 90 days. Expiry is checked when recovery is accessed. There is no cloud backup or password reset. Unsaved, deleted or expired mappings cannot be recovered. Turning protection off locks recovery but does not delete saved mappings. Recovery does not undo screenshot redactions. IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS • Automatic detection can miss sensitive information. Review important content before sharing. • AI-site scripts may read text typed into their composer and originals restored into their page. Local processing does not guarantee that originals never reach the provider. • Protected document attachments contain extracted text only, without the original layout, embedded images, signatures or metadata. Scanned PDFs need an extractable text layer. • Reload AI tabs to remove originals already displayed after locking or disabling protection. • Your selected AI provider’s terms and privacy practices still apply.
