Amper
Overview
Chemistry autocorrect for Google Docs. Opt in; processing stays on your device.
Amper is chemistry-aware autocorrect for Google Docs. It turns common chemistry notation into readable scientific formatting as you type—for example, h2so4 → H₂SO₄, sigma → σ, equi → ⇌, and reaction expressions with subscripts, superscripts, charges, state labels, Greek letters, and scientific symbols. Amper is opt-in. After installation, it remains inactive until you choose Enable Amper. When enabled, it reads the text you type in Google Docs only as needed to detect and format chemistry notation. Processing happens locally in your browser. Document text and keystrokes are not sent to Amper servers or third parties. Features include: - Formula and charge formatting - Reaction arrows and equilibrium shortcuts - Greek letters and scientific symbols - State labels and common chemistry notation - Autocomplete for ambiguous shortcuts - Immediate Backspace restore - Searchable shortcut reference Amper is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
