Overview

Move Amp's desktop navigation sidebar to the right. Click the toolbar icon to switch sides.

Customize Amp's desktop layout with better sidebar defaults and an optional subagent reading panel. amp better defaults starts with navigation on the right. Switch it back to the left with one click, resize the right sidebar, and keep auxiliary views opposite navigation. Features: • Switch between left and right sidebar positions. • Drag the right-sidebar divider to resize it. • Double-click the divider to restore Amp's original width. • Keep using Amp's existing sidebar collapse and expand controls. • Indent child threads using Amp's existing hierarchy in right-sidebar mode. • Keep Files, Changes, Terminal, Desktop, and Portal opposite navigation when available in Amp. • Read subagent tasks and results in an optional panel opposite navigation. • Turn all extension behavior off or on from the sidebar header or extension Options. • Leave layouts below 768px unchanged. Getting started: Install and pin the extension, then refresh your open Amp tabs. Click its Chrome toolbar icon to switch sidebar sides. The toolbar badge shows R, L, or OFF. To open the optional reading panel, select Subagents in a conversation containing subagent activity. Close the panel or choose View original to return to Amp's inline rendering. Privacy: All processing happens locally. The extension reads subagent titles, statuses, task prompts, results, and errors already rendered by Amp to display its optional panel. That content stays in temporary memory and is not saved or transmitted. Only your enabled state, sidebar side, and right-sidebar width are stored on your device. No analytics, advertising, tracking, remote code, or extension-generated network requests. Source code is public under the MIT license. Requires Amp in Chrome or a Chrome-installed PWA. It does not modify the separate native Amp desktop application. Compatibility depends on Amp's page layout and may require updates when Amp changes. Independent project. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Amp.
