Ambiglot
Overview
Read every message in your language; send every reply back in theirs.
Ambiglot translates the messages you read and the replies you send, inside the sites you already use. No copying, no pasting, no second window. HOW IT WORKS Set the language you think in, once, from the toolbar. That is the whole setup — there is no account to create and nothing to sign in to. From then on, messages written in another language appear in yours, in place, with a small banner saying what was translated and a one-click toggle back to the original. Nothing about the page moves. When you reply, write normally. A chip beside the Send button shows which language your reply will go out in — learned from what the other person actually writes — and you can change it, or switch it off, for that one message. Press Send and Ambiglot rewrites your text first, then sends it once. Your original is kept with the message, so nothing is lost in translation. WHERE IT WORKS Ready to use the moment you install, on Gmail, Telegram Web, Discord, eBay messages and Airbnb messages. Other messaging sites can be switched on individually from the toolbar button while you are on them. Chrome asks for that one site's permission at that moment — never at install — and you can switch it off again the same way. Team chat tools, marketplaces, classifieds, travel and rental platforms and freelance sites are supported this way, including the regional editions of the sites above. WHO IT IS FOR Anyone whose inbox crosses a language line. Sellers answering buyers in several countries from one account. Hosts replying to guests who booked in their own language. Freelancers working with clients abroad. Families and friends who do not share a first language. PRICING Every install starts with a free week of the full service — no card, nothing to cancel. After that: $7.99 a month, or $59 a year. That includes 400,000 characters of cloud translation a month, roughly 2,500 messages. If you would rather not subscribe, Ambiglot keeps working: a small monthly cloud allowance, then Chrome's built-in on-device translation, which is good but less natural. You can also supply your own translation provider API key and skip the subscription entirely. Payment is handled by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. Card details never touch the extension. PRIVACY • No account. Ambiglot never asks for your name or email address. • Nothing stored. Message text is sent for translation only at the moment a translation happens, and is not retained afterwards. It is never used to train any model. • No analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking of any kind. • Sites are enabled individually, by you, and can be switched off the same way. Ambiglot does nothing on a site you have not turned on. • Your settings, a cache of recent translations and a note of which language each conversation uses are kept on your own device, and are removed when you uninstall. Full policy: https://ambiglot.com/privacy REQUIREMENTS Google Chrome 138 or later. The on-device fallback uses Chrome's built-in translation model, which Chrome downloads on first use.
