Ambient light for YouTube™

Honestly transformed my YouTube watching experience. Coupled with a 32" 2k monitor, although not exactly like an ambilight TV, it does look nice in its own way. The "Remove black bars" doesn't work the best, as it can remove some subtitles that are actually within the video, like another user commented below. I use this to remove the ambient light feature. It does work. It does work so well that it removes dark parts of the video as well which often removes built in subtitles in the video as well..

The extension messes up the colors of any video I'm watching. Are there any settings that can prevent this? Edit: Thanks for responding, Wessel! It was clashing with the BetterTwitchTV extension. Not sure how but I've disabled that one. Thanks for the help. I can't use YT without this extension on my OLED monitor. Edit: I spoke too soon. The issues have continued. I've disabled all my other extensions yet the issues persist.

Was confused as to why such an extension exists when YouTube has its own ambient light mode built in, but this is far superior to the default ambient mode. This really shows you the colors and much better detail can be seen. YouTubes built in mode is very dim and very blur by comparison. Good work!

Looks great! Highly recommend this extension for owners of 21:9 QD-OLED monitors who view a lot of 16:9 full screen content to help prevent burn-in.

must have for theater mode users, so much better than looking at the default black bars. The developer is also doing a great job with adding features and fixing bugs. Overall a great QoL extension for youtube that doesn't slow down or dramatically change the site.

I felt awful for doubting this extension! Initially, I wondered why I needed this when YouTube already supports ambient mode natively. But oh my, with this extension and the customizations it brings, it takes the experience to a whole new level as long as you fine-tune it to your preferences. There are customizations beyond expectations that you can come up with. Respect to the person who created this!
