Always Listen is a Chrome extension that transcribes your microphone to text after you turn it on. SWITCH IT ON Open the toolbar popup and flip the switch. Always Listen asks Chrome for the microphone once, then keeps listening in the background. BACKGROUND LISTENING Speech recognition runs in an offscreen document so it can continue after the popup closes. If Chrome blocks hidden SpeechRecognition, a small listener window takes over. You can keep that window visible so it is obvious the microphone is on. SAVED NOTES Finalized phrases are stored on this device with chrome.storage.local. Open Settings to search, export as txt or JSON, set a phrase cap, or delete everything. It does not request host permissions and does not read website content. Chrome's built-in Web Speech API sends microphone audio to Google so it can return text. This extension does not add another transcription backend. If you do not want audio to leave your computer, leave the switch off.
