Overview
Create alt text for images with your AltKit account or your own AI provider key
AltKit writes alt text for the images you post, so people who use screen readers know what they show. It reads the words in an image too: signs, screenshots, charts and captions. Works in the alt text dialog on popular social media sites. Getting started: 1. Click the AltKit icon in the toolbar and sign in with a free AltKit account, or open Settings and add your own API key instead. 2. Add an image to a post and open its alt text dialog. 3. Click Create Alt Text. The description is written into the alt text field. 4. Check it, edit it if you like, and post. You can also right-click any image on a web page and choose "Create alt text with AltKit". The result appears on the page, or in the AltKit popup, with a Copy button. Free to use: - With a free AltKit account: 100 images a day. The popup shows how many are left today. - No limit use with your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek or xAI. - No subscription, no payment details.
