Overview
Turn the entire internet into a massive multiplayer turf war. Claim territories and leave encrypted spatial graffiti.
Turn the web into a massive multiplayer idle mining game. Claim pages, place E2EE encrypted graffiti, and compete! Welcome to Alternate Reality MMO: The Spatial Web. Have you ever wanted to leave a permanent mark on the internet? Now you can. The ARMMO extension transforms your web browser into a massive, interconnected multiplayer universe where the very web pages you visit become your territory. Currently optimized for Wikipedia and Reddit, this extension bridges the gap between passive browsing and active, spatial multiplayer gameplay. KEY FEATURES • Claim Territories & Dynamic Economics: Every URL on the internet is a conquerable territory, dynamically priced based on its depth and popularity. Root domains like Reddit cost a massive 50,000 Energy to claim, while obscure pages cost only 50. Furthermore, every piece of Graffiti left on a page permanently inflates its real estate value! Be the first to claim your favorite hubs and watch their value skyrocket. • Idle Resource Mining & Stealing: Earn Credits and Energy simply by browsing the web. Save up your resources to violently "Steal" high-value territories away from other players at a premium cost, or focus on exploring the deep web to build a massive, cheap empire. • Spatial Web Graffiti & Vibes: Leave your mark. Place highly-customizable neon text directly onto specific elements of any webpage, or use the advanced drawing engine to paint multi-stroke, multi-colored vector artwork right on the screen. Add public "Vibe Emojis" (🔥, 💀, 💎) to your hidden graffiti so other players can see the mood of the conversation before unlocking it! • Real-Time Multiplayer: The extension runs seamlessly in the background, instantly broadcasting your graffiti and territory claims to other players currently viewing the exact same URLs. • The Lorekeeper Map: Visualize your browsing history and conquered territories in a stunning, interactive 3D galaxy dashboard. Watch the footprint of your empire grow across the web as interconnected nodes orbiting with the vibes of thousands of players. ABSOLUTE ZERO-KNOWLEDGE PRIVACY I do not want your data, and my architecture mathematically ensures I cannot read it: • Server-Side Peppering: When the server receives a hashed URL, it immediately runs it through an HMAC-SHA-256 function using a highly secret, in-memory pepper before storing it. Even if the database leaks, attackers cannot run dictionary attacks because they do not have the pepper. • Client-Side E2EE: I realized that even with hashed URLs, graffiti DOM selectors (like #patient-name) and the text itself would leak what site the user was on. To prevent this, the extension uses your plaintext URL as a password, runs it through PBKDF2 with 100,000 iterations using SHA-256 to derive a secure key, and then encrypts all graffiti and drawings locally using AES-GCM (256-bit key, 96-bit IV). The server literally only stores peppered hashes and AES-encrypted blobs. • Partial Hashing: To allow the global 3D map to work safely, I implemented a transparent whitelist of completely safe domains (Wikipedia, Reddit, YouTube, Twitch, and GitHub). Even then, the server only receives the root domain (like reddit.com), and the specific path (like r/privacy) is mathematically hashed using SHA-256. The server knows you are on Reddit, but has zero idea which page you are looking at. • Data Minimization: I stripped out all exact ISO timestamps from the database. Everything is truncated to just the date (YYYY-MM-DD) so no one can time-correlate server actions with ISP logs. • Zero-PII Authentication: The entire websocket connection runs over WSS (TLS encrypted), and for gameplay authentication, the system does not collect emails or passwords at all. It just generates a random local UUID in Chrome storage so there is absolutely zero PII tied to your account. In short, if the authorities, a hacker, or even I try to look at the database, all we see is AES-encrypted garbage assigned to HMAC-peppered rooms. HOW IT WORKS Once installed, you can passively earn resources just by keeping the tab open, or you can spend your hard-earned credits to permanently alter the webpage for anyone else who has the extension installed. Whether you want to leave hidden clues on Wikipedia articles, draw funny hats on Reddit avatars, or just map out the largest territory in the galaxy—the choice is yours. Join the simulation. Claim the web.
