Overview
See every image's alt text on any page: what's missing, what's weak and where it is.
Alt Text Auditor shows you every image on a page and whether its alt text actually helps. Click the icon to get a score out of 100 and a list of images that need work. Turn on highlighting and every image on the page gets a small label: missing, weak or fine. Click an image in the list and the page scrolls to it. What it checks - Images with no alt attribute - Empty alt="" on images that may need a description - File names used as alt text, such as "IMG_2034.jpg" - Words that say nothing, such as "image" or "photo" - Alt text over 125 characters - Alt text that starts with "image of" - The same alt text on several different images Also - The number of issues shows on the toolbar icon - Light and dark themes - Works on any page, including localhost and pages behind a login Private by design: The check runs in your browser. Nothing about the pages you visit is collected or sent anywhere.
