AloudUp is a text to speech Chrome extension that turns web pages, articles and selected text into natural-sounding audio. Listen while you browse, save articles to a listening queue, and resume saved articles where you left off. Catch up on long reads while you work or study, or give your eyes a break. Read web pages aloud Listen to articles, blog posts, documentation and long-form posts on X (Twitter). Article extraction helps filter out navigation menus and other page clutter, keeping the reading focused on the main content. Select a passage when you want to hear a specific section. Save articles to listen later Build a playlist from the articles you want to hear. Drag saved items into your preferred order and let playback advance automatically to the next article. When you return to a saved article, continue from your last listening position. Choose your voice and pace Choose from natural-sounding voices in multiple languages, or let automatic voice selection match the page’s language. Adjust the reading speed, pause whenever you need to, skip forward or back 15 seconds, or jump to a paragraph to revisit part of an article. Keep listening while you browse Audio continues when you switch tabs or close the extension popup, so you can keep working while an article plays. Download an article as MP3 Generate the reading audio and save it as an MP3 file for later playback in your preferred audio player. Downloaded files can be played offline. Get started 1. Open a web page or select a passage you want to hear. 2. Click the AloudUp icon and wait for the extracted text to appear. 3. Click “Read current page.” Choose a voice or adjust the reading settings as needed. Use “Listen later” to add an article to your playlist, or “Download audio” in Page details to save the reading as an MP3. Supported pages and speech processing AloudUp works with readable web pages and selected passages. Extraction results depend on the website’s layout. Chrome’s built-in PDF viewer, internal browser pages and Chrome Web Store pages are not supported. An internet connection is required to generate speech. Text is sent to the speech service when you play or download audio. No manual account sign-up or verification popup is required. Service limits apply.
