Aloft

Capture any part of your screen into a floating window you can mark up and keep beside your work.

Aloft lets you grab any part of a web page and keep it floating beside your work. Press Ctrl+Shift+2 (Command+Shift+2 on Mac), drag a box around the part of the page you want to screenshot, and it pops out as its own small window. Move it where you like, keep it on screen while you switch tabs, and close it when you're done. Read a table while you fill out a form, keep a diagram next to your notes, hold a reference image while you write, anything you'd otherwise keep on going back to. What can you do with a float? • Draw or add shapes using freehand, rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, text, and redaction, with a color picker that can sample colors straight from the image • Crop it down to just the part you need • Resize it to exact pixel dimensions • Add a title, tags, and notes • Copy it to the clipboard or save it as PNG or JPEG • Print it • Undo and redo any edit Stay Organized • Recent Floats keeps your last 60 captures so you can reopen anything you closed • Arrange Floats tidies every open window into neat columns • Clear All Floats closes everything at once • Import an image from your clipboard or a file to float it too Privacy Matters Everything stays on your device. Captures are stored locally in your browser, and Aloft never sends anything anywhere; no accounts, no servers, no tracking. FYI • The capture shortcut can be changed any time from the popup's "Change Shortcut" link • Aloft captures the visible page area. Chrome doesn't allow extensions to run on its own pages (like chrome://settings) or the Web Store, so those websites can't be captured
