AllSimpleRecipes is a Chrome extension designed to declutter recipe websites, enhancing the browsing experience by focusing on essential recipe information. Initial Focus: To address the challenge of varying formats across cooking websites and to meet our time constraints, we have selected allrecipes.com as our proof of concept. By simplifying the content on this website, we aim to save experienced cooks both time and frustration by presenting only the essential information. Key Features: - Clarity: Displays only the essentials—recipe title and a main image to inspire. - Filtering Menu: Offers a customizable menu to filter out unwanted elements from the page. - Quick Assessment: Shows the recipe’s review score to help cooks quickly gauge its success and popularity. - Serving Size Modification: Allows users to adjust recipe ingredient quantities based on their desired serving size. - Ad Blocking: Automatically blocks ads on the recipe page to ensure an uncluttered and focused browsing experience. Future Work: - Expanding the Extension: We plan to gradually include support for additional cooking websites, continuously improving and expanding the functionality of AllSimpleRecipes.
