allPanes
Overview
Screenshot the whole page, including every pane that scrolls on its own: sidebars, panels and scrolling tables, in one image.
Web apps don't scroll like documents. The sidebar, the main content and the side panels each scroll on their own, so an ordinary full-page screenshot comes out with every panel cut off at the edge of the window. allPanes captures all of it. One click expands every scrolling area on the page, saves the whole thing as one image, then puts the page back exactly as you left it. WHAT IT CAPTURES • Every scrolling pane at once: sidebars, main content, side panels and detail views • Tables and lists that scroll inside a fixed-height box, opened to their full length • Sticky headers and toolbars once, in place, instead of repeated down the image, with no seams between strips • Content that's still loading: if something arrives mid-capture, allPanes waits and tries again • Pages up to 32,000 pixels tall, on scaled displays and zoomed pages • Ordinary long pages and articles, too EASY TO USE • One click on the toolbar button, or Alt+Shift+S • The capture opens in its own tab, where you can view it at actual size, copy it, or download it • PNG for sharp, lossless images, or JPEG when you need a small file to send. Both file sizes are shown before you choose, and the JPEG quality can be set in Options. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Nothing leaves your computer: no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no network requests • Only your 10 most recent captures are kept, on your own computer • Free and open source under the GNU GPL v3: https://github.com/Andrews-Consulting/allpanes GOOD FOR • Screenshots of web apps for bug reports, support tickets and documentation • Dashboards, admin panels, project trackers, email, and documentation sites with sidebars • Anyone whose screenshot tool cuts off part of the page BEFORE YOU INSTALL • allPanes needs Chrome's "debugger" permission, so Chrome's install prompt warns that it can "read and change all your data on all websites". It uses that permission only on the tab you're capturing, and only while capturing: it makes the tab tall enough to show every pane at full length, takes the screenshot, and puts the page back. • While it captures, Chrome shows an "allPanes started debugging this browser" bar, and the page briefly resizes. Both go away when it's done. • It doesn't expand content inside embedded frames or tables that scroll sideways, and Chrome doesn't let extensions capture its own pages, the Chrome Web Store or the PDF viewer.
