Allow Right-Click
Overview
Enable right-click on any website with the Allow Right-Click extension for Chrome. Unblock context menu and copy text freely.
Allow Right-Click lets you enable right click, select text and copy content on websites that block these actions. Turn it on with one click, and it works instantly, with no page reload. 🖱️ WHAT IT DOES Some websites disable the right mouse button, block text selection or show a "copying is disabled" message. Allow Right-Click restores normal browser behavior on those pages, so you can use the context menu, highlight text and copy it again. ✅ KEY FEATURES ▸ Enable right-click: restores the browser's context menu on pages that block it ▸ Enable text selection: removes user-select: none restrictions ▸ Copy and cut text: lets you copy text from blocked websites ▸ Save images: use the context menu on images and drag them normally ▸ One-click on/off: a single switch in the toolbar popup ▸ Instant effect: changes apply without reloading the page ▸ Clear status: the toolbar icon shows whether the extension is on or off 📌 HOW TO USE 1. Install Allow Right-Click from the Chrome Web Store 2. Open a page where right-click or copying doesn't work 3. Click the toolbar icon and make sure the switch is on 4. Right-click, select and copy as usual Tip: if you installed the extension while a page was already open, reload that tab once. 🔧 CAN'T RIGHT CLICK ON A WEBSITE? If you can't right-click on a website, the page is most likely blocking the context menu with JavaScript. The extension stops those scripts from cancelling the right-click, so the standard menu works again: copy, save image as, copy image address, open link in a new tab, inspect element. 📝 COPY TEXT FROM BLOCKED WEBSITES If a page won't let you highlight or copy text, this extension removes the restrictions that prevent it. You can copy text from a blocked website and paste it into your notes, documents or messages. Use Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on Mac) or the right-click menu. 💡 WHEN IS IT USEFUL? ▸ You need to look up a word in a dictionary or translate a sentence, but the page won't let you select it ▸ You want to save an image or copy its address for a project or a reference ▸ You want to inspect an element or open a link in a new tab, and the context menu is gone 🎯 WHO IS IT FOR? Anyone who runs into a website that blocks the right mouse button or text selection. It comes in handy when you're taking notes, checking a word in a dictionary, saving a quote for later, or just trying to open a link or inspect the page the normal way. ⚙️ HOW IT WORKS Pages block these actions by listening for events such as contextmenu, copy, cut, selectstart and dragstart and cancelling them. Allow Right-Click intercepts these events first, so the page's blocking code never gets the chance to cancel them. It also removes CSS rules that turn off text selection. Everything happens inside the page in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere. ⚠️ GOOD TO KNOW ▸ The extension works on regular text and images in the page. Text that a site draws inside a canvas, an image or a PDF viewer cannot be selected by any extension. ▸ The switch is global: it applies to all tabs at once. ▸ It does not change the content of pages and does not bypass logins, paywalls or any access restrictions. ▸ Please respect copyright and the terms of the websites you use. 🔒 PRIVACY ▸ No data collection and no tracking ▸ No ads and no external servers ▸ The extension does not read or send page content ▸ Only your on/off preference is stored, locally in your browser ❓ FAQ Q: Why is right-click disabled on some websites? A: Site owners can block the context menu with JavaScript to discourage copying. This extension re-enables the standard browser menu. Q: Do I need to reload the page after turning it on or off? A: No. The change applies instantly. Q: Can I turn it off for a moment? A: Yes. Click the toolbar icon and switch it off. The icon shows the current status. Q: It doesn't work on one page. Why? A: The text may be an image or drawn in a canvas, or the page may be a special browser page (such as chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store), where extensions are not allowed to run. Q: Is it safe? A: Yes. It needs only the storage permission and access to pages so it can work on any site. It does not collect, store or transmit your browsing data. Install Allow Right-Click and get right click, text selection and copying back on any website.
