Algorithm Update Alerts for Google Search™ (formerly Search Algorithm Updates) tells you the moment a Google update starts, follows it day by day, and shows what it did to your own traffic. It includes five sections: - Now: ongoing updates with the rollout day, progress against the typical rollout length and Google's latest status message, plus all updates of the last 12 months; - History: the complete history of Google updates, searchable by keyword and filterable by core, spam, other ranking updates and incidents; - Timeline: a visual overview of all updates since 2011, per year, with the length of each rollout; - Stats: typical rollout times for core and spam updates, the longest rollout, days since the last core update and updates per year by type; - Settings: choose which notifications you get, switch between day and night view and turn on the Search Console overlay. Browser notifications alert you when a new update goes live, and again when it completes its rollout. During a rollout the icon shows the day of the rollout: 1, 2, 3 and so on. Crawling, indexing and serving incidents are reported separately, so you know when a drop is not caused by an update. The optional Search Console overlay draws every update as a band on your Performance chart, on the exact day. It works in every Search Console language and is off by default. Your Search Console data never leaves your browser. Historical data goes back to 2011, including Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, BERT, helpful content and all core and spam updates up to today. From November 2021 the data comes from Google's official Search Status Dashboard. The extension checks Google's live feed every 5 minutes and stores finished updates locally, so no update ever gets lost when it drops out of the feed.
