Records Google Meet, streams a live transcript, generates an AI summary, and answers questions from your knowledge bases.

MeetKB records your Google Meet meetings as a local .webm file and — when you sign in — adds a hosted layer that gives you live transcripts with speaker names, rolling meeting insights, action items, AI Q&A grounded in your own knowledge bases, and one-click public share links. WHAT IT DOES • One-click recording. Captures your Meet tab as a .webm, downloaded straight to your machine. Anonymous mode (no sign-in) records locally only — nothing leaves your device. • Live transcript with speaker names. When signed in, MeetKB streams a speaker-attributed transcript in the side panel. Every line carries the name of the person who said it — you don't need to turn on Meet's captions UI for it to work. Under the hood we pick the cheapest available source automatically: Google Meet's own caption stream (free), Deepgram (live STT), or Groq Whisper (batched). • English or Hindi captions. Pick your caption language before recording — MeetKB captures the transcript in English or Hindi (Devanagari) and detects questions in that language. AI answers, summaries, and action items are always written in English. • Shared meeting sessions. When multiple people in the same call record, MeetKB merges them into one shared session — a single transcript, summary, and Q&A that everyone sees. Join late and the full prior transcript backfills automatically. • Live Insights tab. Three rolling cards update as the conversation moves: a running summary of what's been said so far, smart follow-up questions to drive the call forward, and action items with the person who should own each one. Click Ask on any follow-up to push it through your KB. • Detected questions. The extension surfaces every question asked during the meeting in a side-panel list. Click "Ask" to answer it from your KB; or dismiss it. • Knowledge-base Q&A. Upload .txt / .md / .pdf / .docx files or crawl a docs site URL into your own KB. Ask any question; MeetKB retrieves the relevant chunks and synthesizes an answer with Ollama Cloud (primary) or Groq (fallback). Falls back to general knowledge — clearly marked — if your KB doesn't cover the question. • On-Meet answer overlay (optional). Turn on "Overlay" to show AI answers in a translucent floating box over the meeting itself, so you can read them without looking away from the call. The box appears only when you ask and is excluded from your recording. • Auto summary + action items. At Stop, MeetKB generates a structured recap plus a concrete action-item list (owner, text, due hint) — no hallucinated commitments. • Rate any AI output. A quick 👍 or 👎 sits next to every AI-generated answer, summary, action item, detected question, and Insights card. Tap to tell us what worked and what didn't — your ratings stick to the meeting and shape the assistant for next time. • Saved transcript. At Stop, MeetKB writes a .vtt sidecar and a .txt transcript next to the recording. • 20-meeting history with pinning. Past meetings + Q&A threads + action items + summary + your ratings rehydrate in the side panel. Pin the important ones to keep them past the FIFO cap. • Share with anyone. One-click public read-only link to any meeting's summary + action items + your name as "Shared by". No sign-in required for the recipient; revoke anytime — caches are bypassed so revocation is instant. • Profile control. Every signed-in user (admin or member) can edit their display name and re-sync name/avatar from their Google account in a dedicated Profile window. • Smart toolbar indicator. When you join a Meet call, MeetKB shows a red dot on its toolbar icon. Click to open the side panel. YOUR DATA • Recordings: never leave your machine. The .webm (and any .vtt / .txt sidecars) save to your downloads folder only — there is no server-side audio storage. • Provider keys: provisioned by your admin and stored encrypted (Fernet) on the MeetKB server, never returned to your browser. • Share links: opt-in per meeting; only summary + action items + owner email are exposed publicly. Anonymous local recording works without sign-in. • Provider API keys (Groq, Deepgram, Ollama Cloud) are provisioned by your admin; members don't need to bring their own.
