Chrome Custom Interface is a Google Chrome extension that allows you to personalize your new tab interface. With this extension, you can change the default Google Chrome logo on the new tab page to your own custom logo and add shortcuts to your favorite websites for quick access. Customize the background, colors, and layout to match your preferences. Version 5.0.0 builds on the original lightweight design with faster access to saved websites, optional favorites, custom shortcut icons, flexible layouts, group controls, and more practical daily-use features. The familiar themes, shortcuts, reports, logos, backgrounds, and backup features remain available without unnecessary animations or external accounts. === Features === • Replace the default Google Chrome logo with your custom logo. • Choose between uploading a logo image from your computer or providing an image URL. • Adjust the logo width automatically or enter a custom width in pixels, while keeping the height proportional. • Customize the new tab background with your preferred color, gradient, or image. • Customize background, text, and other appearance colors to match your preferences. • Choose between Light, Dark, and System themes, with additional color presets. • Add, edit, delete, and manage shortcuts to your favorite websites. • Quickly access your preferred websites directly from the new tab page. • Drag and drop shortcuts on the new tab page, or rearrange shortcuts and groups in settings. • Create and manage as many shortcut groups as you need. • Assign shortcuts to groups when adding or updating them. • Customize individual group background, border, and text colors. • Search and manage your shortcuts by name, URL, or group. • View shortcut click reports for Today, This Week, This Month, and This Year. • Search click reports by shortcut name, URL, or group. • Import and export shortcuts using a simple JSON file, with optional group names. • Automatically match existing groups and create missing groups when importing shortcuts. • Create a full backup of your shortcuts, groups, preferences, and click reports. • Restore backups without manually choosing a replace or merge mode. • Delete all settings or all shortcuts separately when needed. • Clear shortcut click history when needed. • Display an optional clock and date, including a live seconds counter. • Adjust the shortcut layout and icon sizes to suit your preferences. • Show or hide the top bar on the new tab page for a cleaner appearance. • Switch between English and Bengali from the settings. • Search using your current Chrome default search provider. • Access useful controls from the extension's toolbar popup. • Use your usual browser search while accessing Favorites directly beside your shortcut groups. • Use Ctrl+K to focus the normal search bar, and arrow keys to navigate shortcut tiles. • Mark shortcuts as favorites and access them as a Favorites tab alongside groups. • Add a custom icon URL or upload a personal image for a shortcut. • Choose whether each shortcut opens in the current tab or a new tab. • Get a warning before adding a shortcut with an existing website URL. • Restore an accidentally deleted shortcut using the temporary Undo button. • Use the right-click shortcut menu to open, edit, copy, move, or remove links. • Choose Grid, Compact Grid, List, or collapsible Group Sections, with Classic, Minimal, and Spacious presets. • Temporarily hide a group or an individual shortcut without deleting either, and restore them with the visibility controls. • Show or hide shortcuts using eye buttons in Settings or the shortcut editor on the New Tab. • Smoothly open and close the group shortcut-assignment dialog, including Cancel and Escape. Select a range of shortcuts with Shift+click or Ctrl+click. • Optionally display Most used immediately after Favorites in the group navigation; no separate widget or search bar. • Collapse the selected group without deleting its shortcuts. • Open all shortcuts in a selected group with an optional confirmation for large groups. • Optionally browse Most used shortcuts beside Favorites and your groups, using locally stored click totals. • Keep new shortcut options and group visibility preferences in full JSON backups. • Preserve existing 4.0 shortcuts, groups, colors, images, and local click reports. • Select multiple group shortcuts with Shift+click or Ctrl+click to include the range between two rows. • Choose each shortcut icon from three modes: default website favicon, custom URL, or uploaded image with a preview. • Edit shortcuts from Settings in a smooth popup, without jumping to the top of the page. • Confirm shortcut and group deletion in an accessible Cancel/Delete popup instead of a browser alert. • Keep your scroll position when reordering, editing, hiding, or deleting shortcuts and groups when space permits. • Keep the Settings top bar visible while scrolling through the page. • Simple, lightweight, and user-friendly interface for everyday customization. === Compatibility === Existing shortcuts, groups, group colors, logos, backgrounds and reports are preserved when updating from version 4.0. New optional fields do not require users to reimport or reset their shortcuts. Simple JSON shortcut files still use name, url, and optional group, with additional attributes included only when used. The full backup includes the new settings and group visibility preferences. Older 4.0 full backups and shortcut JSON imports remain supported. === Installation === 1. Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store. 2. Click the "Add to Chrome" button to install the extension. 3. Once installed, the extension will appear in your Chrome extensions bar. If it does not appear, you can pin it from the Extensions menu. 4. Open a new tab to start customizing your interface. === Usage === To personalize your Chrome browsing experience, start by uploading your custom logo or specifying a logo URL via the extension's settings. Choose your preferred theme, background, colors, and layout to give the new tab page a look that suits your style. You can add and manage your favorite website shortcuts, organize them into groups, and drag them into your preferred order directly from the new tab page. Star important shortcuts, open Favorites beside your other groups, and choose a custom shortcut icon or opening behavior. Customize group colors, hide groups, expand or collapse the selected group, adjust your logo size, switch between English and Bengali, and choose whether to show the clock or top bar. The Reports section lets you see how often you open your shortcuts through daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly click reports, with group filters and paginated results. You can optionally show your most-used shortcuts on the New Tab. Choose a layout, filter Reports by group, change the pagination limit, use keyboard navigation, or right-click a shortcut for quick actions. You can also import or export shortcut data as needed, create a full backup, or restore your preferences. This extension provides a simple and user-friendly interface for effortless customization and browsing. === Privacy === Chrome Custom Interface does not require an account or use third-party analytics to track your browsing activity. Shortcuts, uploaded images, preferences, and shortcut click reports are kept locally on your device. Optional website favicons and image URLs may be loaded from external services or the websites you choose.
