Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts 1. Go to Chrome Extensions Shortcuts Page, chrome://extensions/shortcuts 2. Locate AI Speakeasy in the list of installed extensions. 3. Change the default shortcut - Find the desired action, click the pencil icon next to the input box, and enter your preferred key combination. 4. Refresh your browser page to ensure the shortcuts are active. How it Works 1. Open the Microphone Popup - Mac: Shift + Command + K (default, you can change this) - Windows: Shift + Ctrl + K (default, you can change this) - Customize this shortcut as described above under "Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts." 2. Start/Stop Recording - The microphone starts recording automatically when the popup opens. - Click the mic button or press Space to toggle recording on/off. - Note: The Space shortcut is active only when the cursor is not in the text box. 3. Select Your Language - Choose your preferred language from the dropdown menu. This setting is saved locally for future use. - Pro tip: You can switch languages while recording! Highlight a word, change the language, and re-speak it. 4. Dictation - Pause After Speaking: After you speak, pause briefly to allow the transcription to appear. - Smart Insertion: Place your cursor anywhere to insert new text at that position. - Smart Replacement: Highlight any text and speak to replace it with new transcription. - No Punctuation Needed: The AI chatbot can understand without punctuation. Add it manually if desired. 5. Editing Text - Edit the text directly in the text box. - Use Shift+Enter to add a new line. - Highlight text and speak to replace it with new dictation. 6. Sending Text to AI Chatbot - Press Enter to send the text and close the popup. - Or click the Send button. - Reminder: Use Shift+Enter to add a line without sending. 7. Close the Popup - Click the X button to close. - Press Escape to close. - Or use the keyboard shortcut again to toggle it closed.
