AI Page Assistant is a Chrome side panel extension that reads the page or PDF you're currently viewing and lets you chat about it — summarize, translate, extract key points, or ask anything. How it works: Just open the side panel on any web page or PDF and start asking questions. The extension automatically reads the page content in the background — no copy-pasting required. Key Features: • Auto-reads any webpage, article, documentation, or PDF open in your browser • Summarize, analyze, explain, or ask questions about any content • Translate pages and selected text into 12+ languages (Spanish, French, German, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, English, etc.) • Multiple AI models — free models (Big Pickle, DeepSeek, MiMo, Ling, Nemotron) plus paid Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google models via OpenCode Zen • Add your own custom OpenAI-compatible providers (Ollama, Groq, etc.) • Works out of the box with a free default model — no billing setup required • Light, Dark, and System theme support • Fully responsive minimalist UI • Conversation history stored locally on your device • PDF support — reads PDFs opened in the browser using pdf.js • Keyboard shortcuts for power users (Ctrl+N, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+D, Ctrl+/, etc.) • Privacy-first — no tracking, no analytics; page content is sent to AI only when you choose to Supported Content: • Websites, news articles, documentation, blog posts • Wikipedia, GitHub READMEs, Medium, etc. • PDFs served over HTTP(S) and opened in the browser Limitations: Chrome system pages (chrome://, Chrome Web Store, new-tab page) cannot be read. Local file:// PDFs require "Allow access to file URLs" to be enabled.
