Overview
Create and edit LaTeX equations, recognize formulas from images, copy MathML, and download PNG or SVG.
Use a visual math formula editor beside the page you are reading. Equation Editor by AIMath combines visual math input, LaTeX editing and AI OCR in a Chrome side panel or a movable floating window. Build an expression, preview the notation, then copy it or download a file. LaTeX editor with visual math input Use the symbol panels as a visual math keyboard, or type LaTeX directly. Add fractions, square roots, integrals, summations, matrices and Greek letters while viewing the rendered formula. Prepare mathematical notation for algebra, calculus, physics or engineering documents. Image to LaTeX and handwriting recognition Use math OCR to turn an equation image into editable source. Click Snip and select a formula on a supported webpage for screenshot to LaTeX conversion, upload an image through the Image panel, or use handwriting recognition for a handwritten expression. Review the result and continue editing it with the same tools. Text to LaTeX and AI formula correction Describe the equation you need in words, and use the AI equation generator to turn that text into source code. Ask AI to modify an expression or correct its syntax, then inspect the preview before copying the result. Check AI-generated formulas for accuracy before using them in your work. Copy math in the format you need - Copy a PNG image for pasting into documents, slides, notes or email. - Copy LaTeX source, inline math with $...$, display math with $$...$$, or JSON-escaped source for a code workflow. - Copy MathML, Word Equation (MathML), HTML with MathML, or Office Math Markup Language (OMML) source for compatible editors and applications. - Copy SVG source for a vector-graphics workflow. Support for structured equation formats depends on the destination app. To use an image in Google Docs, Google Slides or Microsoft Word, copy PNG and paste it into your document or presentation. Download formula images and source Convert LaTeX to PNG or JPG for worksheets and course materials, or export LaTeX to SVG for a scalable vector image. Download a .tex file to keep the equation source for later editing. Choose Copy or Download and a format from the output menu. Work beside your browser content Keep the side panel open while reading a lesson or preparing research notes. Move and resize the floating editor on a regular webpage when you want the formula closer to your source material. Students can prepare math notes and assignments, teachers can create quizzes and lesson slides, and researchers can prepare equations for papers and technical presentations. Free local editing and optional AI Manual editing, preview, copying and downloads are free and work offline. Sign in with an AIMath account to use online AI generation and recognition with an available subscription or AI credits. Page access and submitted content Snip and Floating work on supported HTTP and HTTPS webpages. To work with a formula in a PDF, upload an image of the equation or open a supported webpage viewer. For browser system pages, the Chrome Web Store and the built-in PDF viewer, use the side panel's local editing or image upload tools. Only the content you submit for AI, including an image or selected screenshot crop, is uploaded. Local editing and file output stay in your browser. Website access across pages is optional. To enable it, choose Allow all websites in the toolbar popup and approve Chrome's permission prompt. Page scripts run when you invoke the editor or Snip. Get started Click the extension's toolbar icon and choose Side Panel or Floating. On a regular webpage, press Alt+Shift+X to start Snip. After navigating to another page, invoke the toolbar icon or shortcut again to renew temporary page access, or use the optional website permission for Floating across pages.
