Overview

Quickly check if any content was AI generated, and make sure your writing isn't!

Check whether any text on the internet was written by an AI service like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok — and prove that your own writing wasn't. Sapling's AI Content Detector runs the same detection models that businesses use through Sapling's API. Select or highlight any text while you browse and get an instant verdict: an overall AI probability, plus sentence-by-sentence scores and inline highlighting that show exactly which passages look like they came from a language model. That means it catches mixed text too — a human draft with AI-written paragraphs pasted in, or AI output that's been lightly edited. == How you can use this extension == • On popular AI chat sites — ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Claude (claude.ai), Gemini, and Grok — we automatically embed a "Detect AI" button next to every response. • Anywhere else on the internet — news sites, LinkedIn, Reddit, Facebook, product reviews, webmail — simply select the text you want to check and select the "Detect ..." option from the right-click menu, or click the detector button that appears if enabled. • Or click the Sapling icon in your toolbar and paste text into the popup for a quick check. • After an analysis, edit the text inline and re-check it until you've reworked any passages that get flagged — useful for making sure your own writing isn't falsely classified as AI. == Certificates: shareable proof == Every analysis can generate an AI Detection certificate — a link hosted on sapling.ai that documents the text, the score, and the sentence-level breakdown. Share it as proof that your essay, application, or article is human-written, or attach it when flagging a submission that isn't. Each analysis also comes with a confidence score so you know how much weight to put on the result. == Why is this important today? == AI-generated content (sometimes called "slop") is proliferating across the internet. Services like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini make it easier than ever to mass-produce articles, LinkedIn posts, homework assignments, job applications, and work reports. Companies, content platforms, schools, and universities are increasingly sensitive to purely AI-generated content, and many use tools like ours to screen, penalize, or block it. The same technology also lets bad actors rapidly generate misleading or spammy content. This extension helps you detect such slop in one click — and helps honest writers verify their work passes as human before someone else runs the check. == Who uses it? == Editors and content managers vetting submissions, teachers and professors reviewing assignments, hiring teams screening applications and cover letters, moderators checking user-generated content, and writers confirming their own work won't be falsely flagged. == What does it cost? == This AI Content Detector is built by Sapling.ai (https://sapling.ai/). Your first month is a free trial with all functionality included. After that, AI detection is a premium feature — see https://sapling.ai/plans for current plans. == Is there an enterprise offering? == Yes. Sapling.ai has an established history of providing grammar checking, writing assistance, and AI detection to enterprises, with SOC 2 Type II–audited security practices. Drop us a note at https://sapling.ai/contact or support@sapling.ai and we'll be in touch. == Is there an API? == Head over to https://sapling.ai/docs/api/detector/ for sample code and documentation — you can run your first API call in minutes. API pricing is usage-based and separate from the Chrome extension subscription; details at https://sapling.ai/docs/api/pricing/ Questions or feedback: team@sapling.ai
