Gemini Folder Manager v3.8.2 1. Overview A dedicated chat management Chrome extension designed exclusively for Google Gemini (gemini.google.com). It provides an In-page Side Panel seamlessly embedded directly into the Gemini interface. 2. Key Features Hierarchical Folder Structure: Systematically classifies chats into parent folders and 1st-level subfolders. Soft Delete (Trash): Deleted chats are retained for 7 days and can be restored along with their folder metadata. Permanent deletion automatically removes the data from the Gemini server in the background. Drag-and-Drop Sorting: Rearrange folder order in edit mode for permanent layout storage. Multi-Profile Support: Establish and switch between independent management environments tailored to specific workflows. Advanced Batch Operations: Select ranges using Shift+Click or utilize Select All to move or delete multiple chats simultaneously. Multilingual Support (i18n): Supports runtime switching between Korean, English, and Japanese. Pin Chats: Pin critical chats (📌) to permanently display them at the top of the panel. Chat Name Synchronization: Automatically reflects chat name edits made within the side panel onto the native Gemini UI. Folder Color & Icon Customization: Visually differentiate folders using custom colors and icons. Folder PIN Lock: Restricts unauthorized access or modification of sensitive folders via a 4-to-6 digit PIN. Notes & Keyword Tags: Attach free-form text notes and keyword tags to individual chats. Date Badges: Categorizes and displays timeframes via badges: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, and Older than 30 Days. Context Menu: Right-click execution for Pin, Rename, Add Note, Move Folder, Copy Link, and Move to Trash. Quick Filters: Instantly toggle between three view states: All, 📌 Pinned, and 📂 Unclassified. Settings Panel: Consolidates management of UI themes, languages, chat name synchronization toggles, and font sizes. Cross-Device Deletion Detection: Identifies chats deleted on alternative devices and alerts the user via a modal dialog. 3. Design and UX Characteristics Push Layout: Side panel activation pushes the core Gemini content area to the left instead of overlapping, maintaining full visibility. Floating Toggle Button: Open or close the panel instantly via the floating button at the bottom-right of the screen or the browser toolbar icon. Two-Step Delete Confirmation: Maintains a confirmation state for 2 seconds after clicking the delete button to prevent accidental data loss. Non-blocking Server Deletion: Instantly purges local records when emptying the trash, handling backend Gemini server deletion asynchronously. 4. Security and Data Protection Local Storage Principle: All configurations and metadata are stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local and are never transmitted to external servers. Privacy Minimization: Manages only chat titles and corresponding IDs; does not read or access actual chat content. Content Security Policy (CSP) Compliance: Restricts external script execution and prevents unauthorized URL injections. Folder PIN Lock: Protects sensitive local folder structures locally via cryptographic PIN authorization. 5. Instructions for Use Access Gemini, then click the floating button at the bottom-right or the extension icon in the toolbar to activate the panel. Click the 🔄 button to synchronize the current Gemini chat list. Right-click a chat or use the dropdown interface on the right to execute tasks such as moving folders, pinning, or adding notes. Switch between the folder organization view and the 🗑 Trash view using the top navigation tabs.
