Vela — Watch Together

Sync an eligible HTML5 video tab with your private Vela watch room.

Vela helps people watch together while each person uses their own browser, account, and authorized access. Use the extension when a Vela room is set to Browser tab: 1. Open an eligible HTML5 video in its own tab. 2. Copy the short-lived setup code from your Vela room. 3. Open the Vela extension on the video tab, paste the code, and connect. Vela synchronizes play, pause, seek, playback speed, and player timing. It does not download, decrypt, proxy, retransmit, or record the video. It does not read provider account cookies or credentials. Access is requested only for the current video site and the trusted Vela app origin after the user presses Connect. Generic HTML5 control is capability-driven and experimental. Protected, DRM, and cross-origin players may be inaccessible; Vela provides a manual-sync fallback. YouTube rooms work directly in the Vela web app and do not need this extension.
