Overview

Saves Google Meet live captions and chat messages to a .txt file. Nothing leaves your browser.

Turn Google Meet's live captions into a plain .txt file you can keep, search, or hand to an AI assistant for a summary. Switch captions on in Meet and a small panel appears at the bottom of the call. It shows what is being captured and gives you two buttons: copy everything to the clipboard, or download it as a .txt file. What you get is one chronological file. Captions and chat messages are merged, so a link someone pasted in chat sits exactly where it was written: [09:21:47] Anna Kowalska: good morning everyone [09:22:03] Marek Nowak: let's start with the roadmap • Works in any language Meet's captions support - the text is never translated or edited • Captures the Meet chat panel, and also the Google Chat space used by meetings linked to a Chat conversation • Follows the corrections Meet makes to a caption while it is still on screen, so you get the final wording rather than the first guess • Starts capturing chat only once captions are running - a meeting you never recorded leaves nothing behind • Drag the panel anywhere, or close it if it is in your way Privacy: the extension asks for no Chrome permissions and contains no network code. No servers, no analytics, no accounts, no third parties. What it reads stays in the meeting tab and is gone when you close it. A file appears on your disk only when you press the download button. A transcript contains other people's words. Tell the other participants that you are capturing the meeting, and check that you are allowed to - the rules differ between countries and between employers.
