Aegis – Ad & Tracker Blocker

Aegis is a privacy-focused ad and tracker blocker for Google Chrome, powered by the uBlock Origin Lite filtering engine and Manifest V3 declarative network rules. Aegis helps protect your browsing experience by blocking unwanted ads, trackers, malicious requests, and other unwanted web content. Features include: - Ad and tracker blocking - Protection against known malicious and unwanted requests - Basic, Standard, and Strict protection levels - Per-site protection controls and trusted sites - Cosmetic filtering and element hiding - Built-in and optional regional filter lists - Custom filters and optional filter-list URLs - Timed global pause and automatic resume - Import/export of extension settings - Current-page blocked-request counter with manual Refresh BLOCKED-REQUEST COUNTER The Aegis popup displays the number of blocked requests detected for the current browser tab when Chrome provides access to matched-rule information. The counter is updated when opening the popup or clicking Refresh. It does not continuously monitor requests in the Chrome Web Store version. If Chrome cannot provide the required information, Aegis displays an unavailable state rather than incorrectly reporting zero blocked requests. PRIVACY Aegis performs filtering locally in your browser. It does not include Aegis-operated analytics or telemetry and does not upload your browsing history to Aegis-operated servers. TECHNICAL INFORMATION Aegis uses Manifest V3 and Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API. The Chrome Web Store version does not use the unpacked-only declarativeNetRequestFeedback debugging permission. Detailed live request logging and lifetime blocking statistics that depend on this debugging API are not available in the published version. Aegis is an independent GPLv3 project built using the uBlock Origin Lite engine by Raymond Hill and contributors. The source code is publicly available on GitHub.
