Overview

Automatically closes tabs you'll never return to, and keeps everything it closed permanently searchable. All local, no accounts.

You keep tabs open because closing them feels like losing them. TabTriage fixes the losing part. It quietly closes tabs you haven't returned to — and keeps every one of them permanently searchable, by the words that were actually on the page. SEARCH IS THE POINT Type a half-remembered phrase from something you closed three weeks ago. TabTriage searches the full text of the page, not just the title, and shows you the sentence you were looking for. That's the moment it stops feeling like a bookmark list and starts feeling like memory. CLOSING IS CAREFUL BY DEFAULT TabTriage never closes a tab that is active, pinned, playing audio, in a tab group, or carrying a form you've typed into. It never touches chrome:// pages or anything that isn't a normal web page. It closes at most 15 tabs at a time, so a first run on a 200-tab window can't clear the deck. NOTHING IS DELETED, EVER Closed tabs are archived before they're closed. Anything closed in the last 24 hours sits in an undo tray, one click from being back. Everything older stays searchable indefinitely. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR COMPUTER No account, no sync, no server, no analytics. TabTriage makes zero network requests. Page text is extracted and indexed locally and stays in your browser's own storage. YOU DECIDE WHEN IT STARTS On first run TabTriage shows you exactly which tabs it would close and waits. It closes nothing until you click once to say yes — and one click turns it back off. HOW IT DECIDES A TAB IS STALE Idle time, discounted by how much you've actually used the tab. A page you've returned to six times needs far longer to go stale than one you opened and abandoned, even at identical idle time. One slider sets the cutoff, from 1 day to 90 days. That's the whole configuration. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO No accounts, no sync, no AI summaries, no subscription, no dashboard, no "productivity score". One popup.
