Linkcrisp — Broken Link Checker
Overview
Find broken links and 404s in 1 click and see where they are. Bot-blocked links get their own list. Free for a page or a whole site.
Find broken links in 1 click and see exactly where they are on the page. WHEN YOU NEED IT • Before you publish a page — test every link in one click instead of clicking through them. • After a redesign or a move — old URLs break quietly. Scan the whole site and see which page links to them. • When you audit a client’s site — hand over a clean report: what’s broken, where it is, what to fix first. WHAT YOU GET • You see where. Broken links are outlined right on the page; click one in the list and the page scrolls to it. Links hidden on the page are marked as hidden. • A report you can send. One click for a client-ready HTML report, or a CSV for your task list. Problems first. • Far fewer false alarms in your Broken list. Slow and busy sites are retried. Sites that refuse automated checks (403, 429, LinkedIn’s 999) go to a separate “Couldn’t verify” list, so you don’t chase links that work. • The whole site. Reads your sitemap, or follows your links, and lists each problem with the pages it appears on. Up to 500 pages and 20,000 links per scan. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open any page and click the toolbar icon — or right-click the page and choose “Check links on this page”. 2. The first time, Chrome asks for access so the extension can request the links. Allow it. 3. Most pages are done in under 10 seconds; each address is checked only once, even if it appears ten times. Fix what’s red. Optional: ignore the header, footer and menus to focus on the content. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Nothing to approve at install. Access is requested only the first time you use it. • Links are requested straight from your browser. Page content is never sent to us. • No account, no ads. One welcome tab after install, nothing after that. • The only thing it sends is an anonymous daily count of actions (no URLs, no IDs). You can switch it off in settings. WHAT’S FREE Checking pages is free and unlimited, forever, with CSV and client reports. Whole-site scans are free too. Until Pro launches, they keep working even after your first 3. Pro — unlimited site scans and a daily check that tells you when a link breaks — is coming soon. Finds dead links (404, 410, sites that are gone) and shows redirects separately. Works on any site you can open in Chrome, whatever CMS built it. Questions or a link it got wrong? support@linkcrisp.com — we usually reply within two business days.
