All adjustable. • Want the subtitles as files? Export one language (.srt), a merged file, or a dual-language .ass with exact timing. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT • Free, no ads — no subscription, no in-app purchases, no sponsored content. • Uses Netflix's own official subtitles — not machine translation or scraping — so text and timing are accurate. • Runs entirely on your device — no login, no servers, no tracking; settings stay in your browser. • Tested and looked after — the core behaviour is backed by an automated test suite (including real-browser end-to-end tests), so updates are far less likely to break what works. • Built-in feedback button — ideas, feedback and bug reports, one click from the popup. ABOUT TRANSLATION Both languages are Netflix's own professional subtitles for that title — not machine translation, which is fast but often inaccurate or subtly wrong, the opposite of what you want when learning. The honest trade-off: you can only pair languages Netflix actually offers for a given title. If there's enough interest, a higher-quality translation option may come later — done properly, not bolted on cheaply. FEATURES • Dual subtitles — show a primary and a secondary language together, kept perfectly in sync with the video. The secondary even defaults to the show's original spoken language. Works on the watch player and in the title/preview pages. • Every text subtitle Netflix offers — including languages that aren't preloaded; they're fetched automatically when you pick them. • Transcript viewer — read the whole episode in "Paired" (line + translation) or "Timeline" (both languages in order) view. The current line is highlighted and the list follows along; click any line to jump there. Keep it in the panel, pop it out into a floating window, or dock it beside the video (resizable). • Skip by line, not by 10 seconds — keys for the previous subtitle (,), a replay of the current one (.), and the next (/). The second language gets its own keys (J K L), so you can step by either. • Follows Netflix's own subtitle positioning — a line authored for the top of the screen (so it doesn't cover on-screen text or signs) shows at the top, instead of always pinned to the bottom. • Language-learning controls — replay the current line with a keypress, loop a line or a marked stretch ([ and ] keys, optional pause between laps), and auto-pause at each line's end (with optional auto-resume). "Listen first" hides a line until you've heard it, then reveals it (you pick when: before it ends, on pause, or on hover). • "Hear it twice" practice — play each line with the subtitle hidden so you listen, then again with it shown so you read. Set how many times each line repeats and how many of those plays stay hidden, and aim the practice at every line, a marked A–B block, or only the lines that match your search. • Practice presets — save your practice setups as named presets and switch between them with one tap. Start from built-ins (like "Hear it twice" or a casual co-watch), or save and name your own; manage them from the popup or the in-player panel. • In-player control panel — a small N² button inside the video runs everything, so it works in fullscreen too (where the popup can't open). Drag it anywhere; it shows the title playing now. • Search & jump — find any word or phrase in a track (or several at once with “|”, any or all) and click a result to jump there. Optional case-sensitive matching, plus a Korean-letters mode so a fused consonant like ㄹ까 finds 할까. • Saved searches (watchlist) — keep the searches you care about, each with a language and a colour, from the popup or in-player panel. The extension scans what you're watching and flags matches with a dot, a count, and an optional in-subtitle highlight; drag to reorder by priority. • Back up your settings — export your whole setup (and saved searches) to a file and import it back, so it survives a reinstall or a new computer. Stays on your device. • Click or drag to copy — optionally click a word, or drag-select a phrase, in the on-screen subtitles to copy it to your clipboard (great for looking words up). Off by default. • Export subtitles — download a single language (.srt), a merged file, or a dual-language .ass that preserves each language's exact timing. Episode files are named with the show, season, and episode title. • Customizable & readable — per-language colours and font sizes, adjustable height, a choice of fonts (including a bundled dyslexia-friendly one, or any installed font), and three mixable legibility layers (outline, text background, window box), each with its own colour and opacity. • Playback speed beyond Netflix's range — 0.25× to 4× from the panel/popup or with Shift+< / Shift+>, added into Netflix's own speed menu too. The panel and keys always work. • One-tap off switch — a master toggle makes the extension dormant so Netflix behaves exactly as normal; flip it back on anytime. • Interface in 32 languages — the extension's own menus, tooltips and messages (in the popup and the in-player panel) follow your chosen interface language, defaulting to your browser's. This is separate from the subtitle/video languages, and you can change it anytime; right-to-left languages (Arabic, Hebrew) display mirrored. PRIVACY Runs locally and collects nothing automatically — no analytics, tracking, or ads. A small counter of how many days you've used it stays on your device (to time a one-time feedback prompt) and is never sent. The only data that ever leaves your device is what you type into the optional feedback form, or the short optional feedback page shown if you uninstall — both via Web3Forms, and only when you press send.
