Open a new tab from a simple button next to the address bar. Why I made it I started using Chrome's “Show tabs vertically” feature. It moves the built-in new-tab button to the lower-left corner, which felt far away from the address bar and interrupted a familiar workflow. I built Address Bar New Tab to put that one action back within easy reach on the right side of the address bar. How it works 1. Install the extension. 2. Pin Address Bar New Tab from Chrome's Extensions menu. 3. Move the white + icon next to the address bar. 4. Click it whenever you want to open Chrome's default new-tab page. Simple by design - One click opens a normal Chrome new tab. - It does not replace or customize your new-tab page. - It does not read page content, browsing history, tab titles, or URLs. - It requests no permissions. - It contains no analytics, ads, accounts, or remote code. Chrome requires users to pin and position extension icons themselves, so a one-time pin is needed after installation.
