Add to Notes saves the text you select on any web page into a Google Doc in your own Google account, together with where it came from and a short, plain-language explanation. WHAT EACH SAVED NOTE CONTAINS • Date and time • Topic: a short title written by AI • Your note: the exact text you selected, with its bold, italics, links and bullet or numbered lists kept • Source: the page title and a clickable link (on YouTube, the link jumps back to the exact second you were watching) • Simple explanation: 2–4 lines in plain language, written by the AI provider you choose AI-written parts are clearly labelled, so they are never confused with the original text. HOW TO USE 1. Open Settings, connect your Google account and create a notes document. 2. Optional: choose an AI provider (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or OpenRouter) and paste your own API key. 3. On any page, select some text, then right-click and choose "Add to my notes", or press Alt+N. 4. A green tick on the toolbar icon confirms it was saved. Click the icon to see recent notes, open your document, switch documents or undo the last note. FEATURES • Works on any website, including YouTube (with a timestamped link) • Keeps formatting: bold, italics, links, bullet and numbered lists • Multiple documents: create several (e.g. "Work", "Study") and switch with one click • Choose your AI: Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or OpenRouter, with an optional fallback to a second provider • Explanation length (short, medium, long) and language of your choice • Never loses a note: if you're offline or the AI is unavailable, the note is saved and completed automatically later • Undo last note, and a recent-notes list in the popup PRIVACY Add to Notes has no servers. Your notes go straight from your browser to your own Google Doc and, if you use AI explanations, to the AI provider you chose, using your own API key. Your keys and settings stay on your device. The extension can only access the documents it created for you, never the rest of your Google Drive. It reads a page only at the moment you save from it. No tracking, no analytics, no ads. We recommend a separate keywith a spending limit. Without a key, notes are still saved; the explanation is simply marked as pending. COMING SOON Voice notes: speak a note instead of selecting text.
