AdBlock Pro - Free ad blocker
Overview
Free, privacy-first ad blocker. Blocks ads, trackers, popups and cookie banners — no account, no telemetry, forever free.
AdBlock Pro blocks ads and trackers like every good blocker does — and then keeps going, onto the sites that most blockers quietly give up on. ▶️ YOUTUBE ADS — ALL OF THEM YouTube sends its video ads in the same response as the video you asked for, which is why filter lists cannot touch them. AdBlock Pro removes them from that response before the player ever reads it, so the ad does not play and then disappear — it never starts. • Pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll video ads, skippable and not • The homepage masthead takeover • Promoted search results and in-feed ads • Sidebar and Shorts ads • Banner overlays on top of the video • The "ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube" dialog, and the scroll lock behind it 👥 FACEBOOK ADS — ALL OF THEM Facebook scrambles the word "Sponsored" on purpose: randomised class names, the word split across a dozen hidden spans, decoy letters, and the real letters reordered. AdBlock Pro reads the label the way you do — as it is actually drawn on screen — so none of that helps. • Sponsored posts in the News Feed • Right-column ads • Ads between Reels and between Stories • Sponsored Marketplace listings 🛡️ ADVANCED SHIELD — FOR SITES THAT FIGHT BACK Streaming, download and file-locker sites don't just show ads. They weaponise the page. Advanced Shield stops the tricks a normal filter list can't see: • Popunders and tab-unders — including opens faked through forms, <base> tags and ad iframes • Click traps — invisible full-page overlays that turn any click into an ad • Fake buttons — decoy play, download and close buttons layered over the real controls • Forced redirects — scripts that throw you onto a different site mid-visit • Back-button hijacking — history spam that traps you on the page • Permission spam — "click Allow to continue" notification and push prompts • Anti-adblock walls — the "turn off your ad blocker" screens, and the scroll lock they leave behind Every group above is a separate switch. If a site ever misbehaves, turn one off — or whitelist the site — without giving up the rest. ⚡ THE EVERYDAY BLOCKING, DONE PROPERLY • Banner, video and native ads, including ones injected long after page load • Trackers and analytics beacons • Cookie consent walls from OneTrust, Didomi, Cookiebot and dozens more • Newsletter popups, exit-intent overlays and autoplay overlays • Sticky, floating and anchored ads, and social share bars • Leftover empty ad frames — pages reflow cleanly instead of leaving white holes 🔒 IT NEVER PHONES HOME. NOT EVEN FOR FILTERS. This is the unusual part, and it is the whole design: • AdBlock Pro makes zero network requests of its own. None. Not on install, not ever. Only links you deliberately click open a tab, like any link anywhere • Filter packs and blocking rules ship inside the extension and update only when the extension itself updates • No account, no sign-up, no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no remote code • Your browsing history is never read and never stored. The only sites recorded anywhere are the ones you personally type into your whitelist or pause list • Removing YouTube and Facebook ads means reading those pages' own data — all of it on your device. Nothing about what you watch or read is recorded, and nothing is sent anywhere • Everything runs on your device, and the full privacy policy is readable inside the extension The trade-off, stated plainly: because nothing is downloaded, filter coverage grows with each extension update rather than daily. In exchange, the extension has no server, no way to track you, and nothing to leak. 🎯 YOU ARE IN CONTROL • Pause any site in one click, or whitelist creators you want to support • Every YouTube and Facebook surface is its own switch — if an update to either site ever breaks something, turn off that one piece instead of the whole feature • Point-and-click element picker: hide anything permanently, with undo • Write your own filters in familiar ABP / uBlock-compatible syntax, plus custom CSS • Keyboard shortcuts for the actions you use most 📊 HONEST STATISTICS • Live counters for the current page, plus today's and all-time totals • Bandwidth and time-saved estimates — methodology is in the FAQ, not marketing • A live per-page breakdown and 30-day history in Chrome's side panel ✨ FEELS PREMIUM, COSTS NOTHING • Fast, polished interface with dark, light and auto themes • 22 languages with full right-to-left support • Full keyboard navigation and screen-reader labels • Built on Chrome's Manifest V3 engine for speed and battery life AdBlock Pro is free forever. No pro tier, no trial, nothing locked. It is built and maintained by one person, so the popup carries one support card: an optional donation link, a review link, and a feedback form that opens your own email app. Close it with the × and it is gone for good. That card is the only commercial thing in the extension, it asks once, and it never tracks you. AdBlock Pro is an independent project and is not affiliated with any other similarly named extension.
