)Overview
A free Chrome extension that blocks banner ads, video ads, and pop-ups — for a cleaner, faster, quieter web.
Ad Blocker Pro removes the ads that slow pages down and get in your way. Banner ads, video ads and pop-ups are stopped before they load, so pages open faster and you get straight to what you came for. It starts working the moment you install it. There is nothing to configure, no account to create, and no subscription. WHAT IT BLOCKS • Banner ads — the strips, sidebars and blocks that push content off the screen • Pop-ups and new windows that open by themselves • Video ads, so you reach the video instead of waiting through the ad • Ad trackers and the requests they make, which is what makes pages load quicker QUIET BY DEFAULT Protection is on from the moment the extension is installed. The toolbar shield turns green while a page is being cleaned, and a small badge shows how many items were blocked on the page you are looking at. ONE CLICK GIVES A SITE A PASS Some sites ask you to turn your ad blocker off, and sometimes you want to. Click the toolbar shield and blocking is switched off for that site — the shield turns grey and the page reloads as the site intended. Click it again to resume blocking. Your choice is remembered per site, so you only make it once. LIGHT ON YOUR BROWSER Filtering happens in Chrome using its built-in rules engine, so pages are cleaned as they load rather than after. Filter lists refresh in the background so new ads are covered without you doing anything.
