Overview
Automatically mutes or lowers YouTube and Twitch ad volume, then restores your audio. Privacy-first: no tracking, no ad-blocking.
Automatically mute or lower the volume of YouTube & Twitch ads, then restore your audio. No tracking, no ad-blocking. Tired of ads that suddenly BLAST at twice the volume of what you were watching? Ad Audio Guard fixes exactly that. The moment a YouTube or Twitch ad starts, it automatically mutes the ad — or lowers it to a volume you choose — and restores your original volume the instant the ad ends. You stay in control of your ears, without blocking ads or hurting creators. WHAT IT DOES • Detects when an ad starts on YouTube and Twitch • Mutes the ad completely, or lowers it to 10% / 30% / 50% — or any level with a slider • Restores your exact previous volume when the ad finishes • A simple popup with an on/off switch and the volume control; changes apply instantly PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No data collection. No analytics. No tracking. • No network requests of any kind. • Your settings are stored locally on your device only. • Minimal permissions — it runs only on YouTube and Twitch. NOT AN AD BLOCKER Ad Audio Guard never hides or skips ads. Ads still play and still count — it only adjusts the audio. This keeps it friendly to creators and avoids anti-ad-block systems. WHY YouTube and Twitch ads are often mixed far louder than normal content. If you listen at low volume — classical music, late at night, or with headphones — a sudden loud ad is jarring. This extension keeps that loudness in check, automatically. Works on Chrome, Brave, Edge, and other Chromium browsers. A Firefox build is also available.
