Acutis Safe Search helps parents keep AI out of their family's web search. What it does: - Sends Google searches to standard web results, so AI Overviews and AI Mode answers are not shown. - Hides the AI Mode button and tab on Google. - Can hide the Images tab on Google and send image searches to web results. - Blocks a built-in list of AI chat and AI companion websites. - Works on Google in many countries, including Google UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France and more. - Opens Google when a new tab starts, so Chrome's own New Tab page, which includes an AI Mode button, is not shown. Works on its own, or with an Acutis account: - On its own, the extension needs no account. It collects nothing and makes no network requests. - Parents with an Acutis account can connect each Chrome profile with a one-time code. They can then choose the protections for each profile from Acutis, such as a lighter setup for a parent's own profile and a stricter one for a child, and be told if the extension is removed. - When connected, the extension contacts Acutis to receive the chosen settings and to confirm it is still running. It never sends the pages you visit, your searches, or your browsing history. What it does not do: - It does not control Chrome's built-in AI features, other browsers, or other devices. - It is a layer of protection, not a guarantee.
