Abstractus Connector

Save papers, PDFs and references from your browser to Abstractus Desktop in one click

Abstractus Connector saves research papers from your browser into Abstractus Desktop, the free reference library for Windows, in one click. On a journal article, a PubMed record, a preprint, a search results page or a PDF, click the Abstractus button in your toolbar. The connector reads the page's citation details (title, authors, journal, year, DOI and abstract), finds the full-text PDF when you have access to it, and saves both to your Abstractus library. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Save a single article, or pick several from a search results page • Capture the PDF along with the reference, using the access you already have, including institutional logins • Choose which collection each paper goes into • Keep everything on your own computer: papers are sent only to Abstractus Desktop running on the same machine GETTING STARTED 1. Install Abstractus Desktop for Windows from https://abstractus.ai and sign in. 2. Add this extension to Chrome. 3. In Abstractus Desktop, open Library > Browser connections and create a connection code. 4. Open the connector's settings, choose Connect browser, and paste the code. 5. Click the Abstractus button on any paper. PRIVACY The connector sends the papers you save only to Abstractus Desktop on your computer. It does not send your browsing history or your saved papers to Abstractus servers. To recognise publisher and database pages, it downloads site translators from the open-source Zotero translator repository (repo.zotero.org). Abstractus Desktop uploads a paper to the cloud only when you choose to add it to an Abstractus review.
