Absolute Time Everywhere replaces vague timestamps like "2h ago" or "yesterday" with an exact date & time directly on the page — so you stop guessing and start knowing. Perfect for anyone who works across tabs, teams, and timezones: triage, planning, reviews, incident timelines, collaboration, and research. WHAT YOU GET - Exact timestamps in-page: turns relative time into a clear, absolute date & time in your local timezone. - Two modes: Safe (recommended): converts only when a website provides a machine-readable timestamp (highest accuracy). Aggressive (optional): also tries to interpret plain text like "3h ago" or "yesterday" when needed (best-effort). - Global ON/OFF: Green = running everywhere. Red = off everywhere. - Disable a specific site in one click: "Disable this site" adds the current domain to your Disabled Sites list. - Disabled Sites management: view, search, and re-enable disabled domains anytime. HOW IT WORKS (SIMPLE + ROBUST) Many websites display relative time, but still embed an underlying timestamp (for example via datetime, data-* timestamp attributes, or accessible labels). ATE reads those machine-readable values (Safe mode), formats them cleanly, and replaces the visible relative text. WHEN IT MAY NOT WORK (AND WHY) Some pages cannot be modified reliably because: - The site provides only plain relative text and no real timestamp behind it. - The timestamp is drawn inside a canvas or baked into an image. - Content is rendered inside closed Shadow DOM (not accessible to content scripts). - Some embedded cross-origin iframes restrict access. - Aggressive mode is a best-effort estimate and can be off if a page is stale or doesn’t update live. PRIVACY-FIRST BY DESIGN - No backend - No tracking - No accounts - No analytics Everything runs locally in your browser. PERMISSIONS - Storage: saves your preferences (mode, formatting, disabled sites). - All sites access: required to convert timestamps on pages you visit.
