ABAIR Léitheoir Gréasáin (Web Reader) reads web pages aloud in Irish using high-quality voices from ABAIR.ie. FEATURES: - Multiple reading modes: select text to read, read the full page, or navigate paragraph by paragraph - Real-time highlighting: follow along as each sentence is read aloud - Regional Irish voices: choose from Connemara, Donegal, Kerry, and Waterford dialects (7 voices) - Adjustable reading speed and volume - Keyboard shortcuts: fully keyboard-accessible (Alt+P play/pause, Alt+R read selection, Alt+F full page) ACCESSIBILITY: - Designed for users with visual impairments, dyslexia, cognitive fatigue, or ADHD - Screen reader compatible with ARIA labels and live announcements - Colorblind-friendly highlight presets - Respects system preferences for high contrast and reduced motion - Large controls option available PRIVACY: - Only sends text to ABAIR.ie for speech synthesis - Never sends page URLs - No tracking or data collection - Local-only mode available (browser speech synthesis only) Developed by the ABAIR project at Trinity College Dublin.
