The existing workflow is initiated by controls inside the companion page, not an extension action or context menu that grants activeTab. <all_urls> is used for that capture API; it is not used to browse or scrape arbitrary sites. The service worker validates the extension sender, top frame, exact companion URL, active tab, focused window and viewport before and after capture. Only https://ab-rpt.com/tube-test/tube_index.html and the two exact localhost development pages can request capture. The full-tab bitmap stays in memory; only a 100x60 JPEG crop is returned to the companion page. The user is asked for capture consent before the first supported control interaction on each page load. YouTube embed content scripts only report video bounds to the allowed parent origin. Account-based persistence belongs to the companion web application and is not required for the steps below. Install the submitted extension in desktop Chrome and reload the review URL. Use the extension-enabled Chrome browser, not an IDE's embedded browser. Keep browser page zoom at 100% and the player visible in the active, focused window. Paste an embeddable YouTube video URL that you are authorized to use into the YouTube URL field, then click the load button. For example, the public YouTube IFrame API demo video is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7lc1UVf-VE (availability is controlled by YouTube). Wait for the video to load. At the first supported player-control interaction, accept the bilingual capture disclosure. It explains temporary full-tab capture, local cropping, and the companion application's optional signed-in Firebase storage. Rejecting it prevents capture. Acceptance lasts only for the current document. Set point A using the A button, move to a later position and set B, then click the scene registration button. A JPEG thumbnail and the A/B interval appear in a scene card. Without login this is temporary, in-memory registration and is intentionally cleared on reload. Change a supported image setting such as brightness and confirm the thumbnail updates when setting A or editing a scene. Changing speed/volume, setting B or pressing registration alone does not take a new screenshot. The extension does not capture arbitrary websites. Captures are rejected if the companion tab is inactive or its view changes during capture. No video/audio file is downloaded and no player overlay, link or advertisement is removed by the extension. The submitted archive contains manifest.json at its root, the service worker, content script, and four PNG icons. It does not include Firebase credentials, test tools, website source, backups or remote executable code.
