Translate Japanese AA (Ascii Art / Yaruo) works in-place using LLMs

AATranslator — In-page translator for Japanese AA (ASCII art / Yaruo-kei) works Translate Japanese AA works such as Yaruo-kei stories, 2ch/5ch threads, and AA wiki galleries without leaving the page. Only the meaningful Japanese text is replaced — the ASCII art stays byte-for-byte intact. How to use 1. Click the AATranslator icon → a thin toolbar appears at the bottom-right of the page. 2. Click "Select area" → click an element (paragraph, div, etc.) that contains AA and text. 3. Use "Translate all" to batch-translate every detected block, or click blocks one at a time. 4. Click a translated block to toggle between the original and the translation. 5. Drag-select any text and click the "Translate" popup to translate just that range. Key features • Block-level detection — only meaningful Japanese is sent to the translator; ASCII art is preserved byte-for-byte • 5 translation providers — OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Ollama (local / free), and Chrome's built-in Translator API (no API key, fully offline) • Free-tier friendly — automatically keeps Gemini requests under the 15 RPM limit • Efficient batching — bundles multiple blocks into one request and automatically falls back to smaller batches, then individual calls, on failure • Translates into Korean, English, and Chinese (Simplified / Traditional) • In-page settings modal — no separate options page required • Localized UI — Korean, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (follows your Chrome UI language automatically) • Customizable highlight color • Cancel translation anytime, toggle highlights on/off Privacy Your provider choice, model name, API key, and preferences are stored locally in chrome.storage.sync. Only the Japanese text you choose to translate is sent to the provider you configured. If you pick Chrome's built-in Translator, text never leaves your device.
