Overview

Per-tab and master volume control for every tab. Boost with a limiter, fine 1% steps, works in fullscreen. No ads, no tracking.

Too many tabs making noise? DialBack lets you set the volume of every tab separately, and adds one master volume for the whole browser. 🔊 PER-TAB VOLUME • Set each tab's volume from 0% upwards, in 1% steps • Type an exact value, use the −/+ buttons, or scroll over a card • The slider snaps to exactly 100% when you get close • Mute, reset or jump to any tab from the popup 🎚️ MASTER VOLUME • One slider turns every tab down at once • Each tab keeps its own level, so the balance between tabs stays the same • Every tab shows what it actually plays at 🖥️ WORKS IN FULLSCREEN • Keyboard shortcuts change the volume without leaving fullscreen • A small on-screen display shows the new level, even over fullscreen video • DialBack does not use tab capture, so fullscreen keeps working and no "this tab is being shared" banner appears 🚀 CLEAN BOOST • Boost quiet tabs up to 125%, 150% (default) or 200% • A built-in limiter keeps boosted audio from clipping • At 100% and below, audio is untouched: no processing, no quality loss 📋 SEE WHAT'S PLAYING • Lists other tabs that are playing, or that played recently (you choose: playing now, or the last 5 to 60 minutes) • Shows Playing / Not playing on each tab • Tabs that never made a sound stay out of the list ⚙️ SIMPLE SETTINGS • System, light or dark theme • Choose the step size for buttons, shortcuts and the scroll wheel • Optionally remember the volume you set for each website 🔒 PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no accounts • No network requests: everything stays in your browser ⌨️ DEFAULT SHORTCUTS • Alt+Shift+↑ / ↓: tab volume up / down • Alt+Shift+M: mute / unmute tab • Alt+Shift+V: open DialBack Master volume shortcuts can be assigned on the browser's extension shortcuts page. GOOD TO KNOW • Browsers don't allow extensions on their own pages (settings, extension stores). Mute still works there. • Some sites block boosting for their audio, including copy-protected streaming services. On those sites, volume works from 0 to 100%. • Audio made by a page's own sound engine, rather than an audio or video player (some games), isn't affected. Tab mute still works.
